Studio Manager

Import Studio Data from Another System

Move your roster, guardians, classes, and enrollments from Jackrabbit, iClassPro, or DanceStudio-Pro without reformatting exports.

Prerequisites

- Studio profile created in SmartScore

- Export access in your previous system

Step-by-step workflow

1) Open Import Data

- Go to Studio -> Import Data (/studio/import).

- Choose your previous system in “Where are you coming from?”

2) Export from your old system

- Jackrabbit: Students -> Student Reports -> Student Detail Report. Enable first/last name, birth date, classes, and parent emails. Download CSV or Excel.

- iClassPro: Reports -> Student List (STU-1). Export CSV (UTF-8).

- DanceStudio-Pro: Settings -> Backup (.xlsx) or your student CSV export.

3) Upload and review

- Drop the export on the import page (no column renaming).

- Review dancers, guardians, classes, and enrollments in the preview.

- Fix any errors shown in red; warnings (amber) may include estimated birth dates or placeholder class schedules.

- Confirm import, then invite families using guardian emails when prompted.

4) Optional: competition routines

- Routines are optional during migration. Add them later under Routines, or use the SmartScore essentials workbook (advanced templates on the import page).

Validation checklist

- Every imported dancer has a valid date of birth (or age-based estimate you accept).

- Guardian emails look correct before batch invites.

- Classes with placeholder schedules are updated under Classes if enrollments were imported.

Common failure modes and fixes

Date of birth errors

- Add Birth Date to your export, or include Age so SmartScore can estimate DOB (shown as a warning).

Enrollments reference unknown classes

- Upload a class schedule export from your old system, or edit placeholder classes after import.

Duplicate dancer keys

- Ensure Student ID is unique, or remove duplicate rows from the export.
